Scottish vocalist, songwriter, pianist and multi-instrumentalist Dawn Coulshed joins Pyrofon. Her debut on the label, Shelter, releases 16th October on digital, with CD following 20th November.

Dawn’s output draws on influences from folk, jazz and classical music, with forays into improvisation and sound exploration. The upcoming release sees her in an intimate duo setting performing an original set of songs, accompanied by the evocative improvised cello work of Joanna Stark. Captured spontaneously in a Glasgow practice studio by alt-folk musician Daudi Matsiko, the recording is raw in all the good ways. The result is a set of songs that feel less performed than discovered, unfolding in real time between voice, piano and cello.
